To get things rolling, I drew everything out on the swamp ash blank. Then I routed the control cavity before cutting the body to shape so I'd have more support for the router. I don't have pictures of the process, but I squared up and sized the bocote (Mexican Rosewood) neck blank and I also re sawed an African Blackwood fretboard.





Next the body is cut to shape and the neck pocket is roughed out on the drill press. Now its time two switch gears to the neck before the neck pocket is finalized. The neck needs to be in place before the bridge and pickup layout can be finalized.
