I often tell people that I like to build guitars that are highly functional while still being works of art. One day I noticed there was an upcoming woodworking show in town that featured a juried wooden art object competition. I thought to myself "here's an opportunity to put my money where my mouth is!". So there you have it, this guitar was designed from the start as an entry for this contest.

Although it might be lost on the jury, the multiple piece neck and body are actually very functional in addition to being visually striking. The set-neck is extremely strong, and the mix of walnut and maple in the body give it a nice balanced sound. Not only is this one of the lightest guitars I have ever made, it is also one of the loudest acoustically. Oh and by the way, it won third place!
