If you don’t know what Project ’58 is all about, check out this post.
I’m a bit late posting this so there’s a fair bit of progress that’s taken place. A lot of the work to date has been in creating jigs required for this model. In some cases, my exising ones were usable and some I had to make to accommodate the quirks of this design.
This prototype batch is made up of two mahogany (neck and body) guitars and two Spanish cedar. I’m not sure that I’ll continue to offer both, but I thought it would be fun to see the final product with a couple of different woods. I’m starting with four because often in the design process I ferret out some badness and, well, let’s just say that not all of the prototypes make it to the finish line!
